OUR MISSION

An education can change a person’s life. Exposure to a diverse range of subjects can create generational change that allows children the chance to follow their dreams. The goal of this program is to provide an opportunity for that to occur. Every child in the program is able to receive a high level education with the additional support of our team. Because of that, they have the choice of pursuing a career which otherwise might not have been possible. When a child gets sponsored, the Church commits to ensuring their educational needs are met until their high school graduation at which point they can decide if they want to enter the work force or go to college. We continue to provide support through college or trade school if that is the path they choose.

MISSION STYLE

At Rabbit Creek Church we are very intentional at not only supporting but equipping missions worldwide. We believe the most effective way to grow the body of Christ is to pour into individuals who grew up in the culture, people who understand how to best connect with the community around them. Because of this, our mission teams are focused on equipping team members in country to continue reaching out to the community around them. There is power in realizing the American way of doing church is not the only way. Serving with this mindset allows space for humility while strengthening the leadership of individuals across the globe.

MISSION STYLE

In Nairobi, Kenya, 1.5 million people—half the city’s population—live in slums where education is nearly inaccessible. In Kibera, over 100,000 orphaned children have no public schools, with 43% of girls and 29% of boys receiving no education. Mathare Valley has just two public schools serving 70,000 students. Though primary education is technically free, required uniforms create barriers for impoverished families, while overcrowded classrooms often pack 100 students with five children sharing a single desk. Without secondary education options, children beyond age 14 face grim futures: boys are drawn into gangs, drugs, and crime, while girls endure exploitation, rape, and early pregnancy. Thousands grow up without the skills or opportunities to escape this cycle of poverty.

Russell Academy offers hope through private, Christian education for the most vulnerable children in these slums. Through sponsorships, students receive uniforms, paid tuition, books, study materials, and nutritious meals daily. This loving, quality education empowers children to break free from poverty, violence, and hopelessness—transforming their futures and communities.
